The WAI Western Chapter’s 10th Annual Wild West Shootout golf tournament is set for Monday, October 25, at the Los Verdes Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The scramble format tournament features team and individual prizes; raffle prizes including 3 closest to the pin holes, long drive and accurate drive holes; and the grand prize hole-in-one contest to win the $10,000. The WAI Western Chapter’s 9th Annual Wild West Shootout golf tournament was held Monday, October 26 at the Los Verdes Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
• October 15, 2008 –8th Annual “Wild West Shootout” Golf Outing
The WAI Western Chapter’s 8th Annual Wild West Shootout golf tournament had a beautiful fall day on Wednesday, October 15 for its 54 golfers. Played at the Eisenhower Course of the Industry Hills Golf Club at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort in Industry Hills, California, the best ball scramble format tournament featured a winning team score of 61 by John Van Diepen, Brian Reed, Jeff Hache and Rich Corson.
• January 30, 2008 – Dinner Meeting with topic "Shape Memory Metals"
The Western Chapter’s continuing Educational Speaker Series and Dinner proved to be quite memorable: the subject for the January 30, 2008, event at the Hilton Hotel in Anaheim, California, was Shape Memory Metals.
The presentation by speaker Joseph B. Kain,
Technical Manager for Medical Products at Johnson Matthey, Inc, discussed nickel titanium processing, specifically Nitinol, a unique class of shape memory materials.
